Hosho Iwano is an extremely special washi, made by Human National Treasure Mr. Ichibei Iwano, one of the oldest and most revered Echizen papermakers. Crafted with precision, this washi boasts top-grade Japanese kozo fiber, beaten by hand and cooked using traditional methods. Mr. Iwano's adept paperforming causes the fibres to intertwine multi-directionally, resulting in a washi that is strong, smooth and even. It is made especially for multi-color woodcut printing, known as ukiyo-e, and can withstand up to 40 color printings. Heritage Washi (HW).
