This special origami set features unrinsed katazome-shi, allowing you to experience the final step of this traditional craft.
Katazome-shi is washi printed by hand using katazome, a stencil dyeing technique developed in Kyoto for kimono textiles and adapted in the 20th century for printing paper. The vibrant, long-lasting colours are achieved using soy-based pigments and aids.
With this set, you’ll take part in the final stage—rinsing off the dye resist in water to reveal the full design, then drying the sheets. English instructions included.
Once dried, the papers can be used for origami, collage, or small paper crafts.
10 sheets per set. Patterns vary; each set is unique.
