Made in Towa village, Kochi Prefecture by a third-generation papermaker, using 100% Japanese kozo fibre. The fibre is river-cleaned, sun-bleached, cooked in lime, and hand-beaten. Aogiri is added as a formation aid, along with a small amount of rice powder, and the sheets are dried on wooden boards (itaboshi).
"Senka" refers to the method of creating thick, strong, double-sided paper by laminating two sheets while still wet—one made on a kaya su (reed screen) and the other on a take su (bamboo screen).
Its charming small format, with all four deckle edges, makes it perfect for showcasing your work, such as brush painting and printmaking. Heritage Washi (HW)
